The New Covenant
The eternal relationship between God and humanity established by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
The New Covenant is the definitive and irrevocable bond between God and man instituted by Christ at the Last Supper and sealed on the Cross (CCC 613, 1339). It fulfills and perfects all the covenants of the Old Testament (CCC 1965).
Law written on the Heart
Unlike the Old Covenant written on stone, the New Covenant is written on human hearts by the Holy Spirit, enabling the faithful to live as children of God (CCC 762, 1965-1966).
Frequently Asked Questions
Will there ever be another covenant? No. The New Covenant in Jesus is the final and eternal covenant; we await no further public revelation (CCC 66-67, 73).
