Knowledge (Gift)
Knowledge is a gift of the Holy Spirit that enables a person to judge rightly concerning the truths of faith and the value of created things.
Knowledge is one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. Distinct from academic learning, this spiritual gift enables a person to see created things in their proper relationship to God—to recognize God's hand in creation and to avoid attaching oneself to created goods as ultimate ends (CCC 1831).
Spiritual Insight
The gift of knowledge helps the believer to discern what comes from God and what does not. It illuminates the path to salvation by showing the emptiness of worldly things when separated from the Creator, fostering a spirit of detachment and holy desire (CCC 1831).
