The Mount of Olives

The mountain east of Jerusalem where Jesus prayed, ascended into heaven, and will return in glory.

The Mount of Olives is a significant location in salvation history, serving as the site of Jesus' Agony in the Garden, His Ascension, and the place of His promised return (CCC 630, 660). It overlooks the Temple Mount and the city of Jerusalem.
