The Incarnation
The Incarnation is the mystery of the union of the divine and human natures in the one Divine Person of the Son of God.
The Church calls 'Incarnation' the fact that the Son of God assumed a human nature to accomplish our salvation (CCC 461). It is the distinctive sign of Christian faith (CCC 463).
True God and True Man
In the Incarnation, the Son of God became truly man while remaining truly God, united in the Hypostatic Union (CCC 464, 469).
