The Ascension
Christ's return to the Father's glory forty days after His Resurrection.
The Ascension marks the entry of Christ's humanity into divine glory, where He sits at the right hand of the Father (CCC 659-661). It is the completion of His earthly mission and the beginning of His intercession for us in Heaven (CCC 661-662, 667).
Pledge of Our Glory
Because the Head of the Church has ascended, the members of His Body live in the hope of one day following Him to where He has gone before us (CCC 661, 666).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Jesus still with us? Yes. While He is physically in Heaven, He remains present to His Church through the Holy Spirit, the Word, and the Sacraments (CCC 669).
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
