The Passover
The Passover is the Jewish feast commemorating God's deliverance of Israel from Egypt, the type of Christ's Paschal Mystery.
The Passover (Pesach) commemorates the liberation of Israel from slavery in Egypt (CCC 1096, 1363). It is a type of the true Passover of Jesus Christ (CCC 608, 1094).
Fulfillment in Christ
Jesus is the true Lamb of God whose blood is shed for our salvation (CCC 608). The Eucharist is the new Passover (CCC 1339).
