Acedia
Acedia is a form of spiritual sloth or indifference that constitutes a refusal of the joy that comes from God.
Acedia, or spiritual sloth, is a sin against the love of God. It goes so far as to refuse the joy that comes from God and to be repelled by divine goodness (CCC 2094, 2733).
Spiritual Apathy
The spiritual writers understand by this a form of depression due to laxative in ascetic practice, low watchfulness, and negligence of heart (CCC 2733).
