A Hebrew word used to express agreement, affirmation, and belief, meaning 'So be it' or 'Truly.'
Amen is the biblical expression of faith that concludes our prayers and our confession of faith in the Creed (CCC 1061). It signifies our 'Yes' to God's promises and His will (CCC 1062-1064).
The 'Amen' of Christ
Jesus Himself is called 'the Amen' (Revelation 3:14), for He is the definitive 'Yes' of God's love to humanity and the perfect response of humanity to God (CCC 1065).
