Annunciation
The Annunciation is the visit of the angel Gabriel to Mary to announce she would be the Mother of God by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Annunciation inaugurates 'the fullness of time' when the Son of God was conceived in Mary's womb (CCC 484-486). Her response is called her 'fiat' (CCC 494).
