Apostolate
The apostolate is the work of all members of the Church who participate in the mission of Christ and the Apostles.
The apostolate is every activity of the Mystical Body that aims to spread the Kingdom of Christ over all the earth (CCC 863-864). Both the hierarchy and the laity are called to participate in this mission according to their proper state (CCC 863, 900).
Universal Call
Every Christian, by virtue of their Baptism and Confirmation, is called to be an apostle—one who is 'sent' to bear witness to the Gospel in their daily life (CCC 863-865).
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the 'lay apostolate'? It is the specific mission of the laity to sanctify the world 'from within' by managing temporal affairs according to God's will (CCC 898-899).
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
