Beatitude
Beatitude is the state of supreme happiness and blessedness found in the vision and love of God in heaven.
Beatitude is the 'final end' for which God created us (CCC 1718-1719, 1723). It consists in the 'Beatific Vision,' where the soul sees God as He is and shares in His own divine happiness (CCC 1023-1024).
Our Vocation
God has placed the desire for happiness in the human heart to draw us to Himself, who alone can fulfill it (CCC 1718). The path to this happiness is laid out in the Beatitudes taught by Jesus (CCC 1716-1717).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we achieve beatitude on earth? Only in a partial and anticipatory way through grace and the life of virtue; full beatitude is reserved for the next life (CCC 1721-1722).
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
