Feast Days
Feast days are specific days in the liturgical year set aside to celebrate mysteries of the faith or honor the saints.
Throughout the year, the Church celebrates the whole mystery of Christ and honors with special love the Blessed Mary, Mother of God, and the memories of the martyrs and other saints (CCC 1172-1173). These feast days are meant to nourish the faith of the believers (CCC 1173).
Liturgical Cycle
The liturgical year is made up of different cycles, including the feasts of the Lord and the 'Sanctoral' cycle of the saints (CCC 1171-1173).
