Mary (Mother of God)

Mary is the Mother of God (Theotokos) because she is the mother of the eternal Son of God made man.

Mary is truly 'Mother of God' since she is the mother of the eternal Son of God made man, who is God Himself (CCC 509). This title was defined at Ephesus in 431 AD (CCC 466).
