Counsel (Gift)

Counsel is one of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. It perfects the cardinal virtue of prudence by making the soul docile and responsive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit in making moral decisions, especially in difficult or complex situations (CCC 1831).

Spiritual Intuition

While human prudence requires deliberation and reasoning, the gift of counsel operates as a kind of supernatural intuition. It helps the believer to discern the will of God clearly and promptly, illuminating the path of righteousness and guiding the person to speak and act in ways that serve their salvation and that of others (CCC 1831).
