Decalogue
The Decalogue is the Ten Commandments, the 'ten words' given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai.
The word 'Decalogue' means literally 'ten words' (CCC 2056). God revealed these 'ten words' to His people on the holy mountain (CCC 2056). They are the fundamental expression of the moral law (CCC 2057-2063).
The Path of Life
The Decalogue must be interpreted in light of the two-fold commandment of love of God and neighbor (CCC 2067). They are a privileged expression of the natural law (CCC 2070).
