Mystagogy
Mystagogy is the liturgical and catechetical period following the sacraments of initiation in which the new Christian enters more deeply into the mysteries of the faith.
Mystagogy is the 'catechesis on the mysteries' that leads the faithful from the visible signs of the liturgy to the invisible reality of the sacraments (CCC 1075). It is particularly associated with the period after Easter for the newly baptized (CCC 1075, 1233).
Liturgical Catechesis
The aim is to help Christians understand the meaning of liturgical celebrations and to live out the mystery of Christ (CCC 1075). It involves reflecting on the Word and sacramental signs (CCC 1075).
