Salvation
Salvation is the deliverance from sin and its consequences, brought about by Christ, which restores humanity to communion with God.
Salvation is the work of God by which He rescues humanity from the power of sin and death through the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ (CCC 588, 613). It is the restoration of friendship with God (CCC 457).
Necessity of the Church
The Church teaches that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is His Body (CCC 846).
