Savior is the central title of Jesus Christ. The very name "Jesus" means "God saves" in Hebrew. The angel announced to Joseph: "You shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21). Christ alone brings about the salvation of the human race (CCC 430).
The Church teaches that Jesus is the universal and unique Savior. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). His death on the cross and His glorious resurrection are the definitive act of rescue that bridges the chasm of sin between humanity and God (CCC 432, 452).
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
