The Written Word
The books of the Bible; the written Word of God, set down under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God is the author of Sacred Scripture, and what the inspired authors affirm should be regarded as affirmed by the Holy Spirit (CCC 105–106). Sacred Scripture, together with Sacred Tradition, forms the one Word of God — the supreme rule and norm of the Church's faith (CCC 80–82). The Church venerates Sacred Scripture as she venerates the Body of the Lord (CCC 141).
