Intelligent design is the view that the complexity and order of the universe point to a purposeful Creator.
The Church teaches that the order and harmony of the world result from the diversity of beings (CCC 341). Reason can know God from His works (CCC 32, 36).

Is this the same as the modern movement? The Church affirms the philosophical truth of design but maintains that science and faith can never conflict (CCC 159).
