Scripture is the collection of 73 inspired books, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, containing the Word of God in human words.
Sacred Scripture is the speech of God as it is put down in writing under the breath of the Holy Spirit (CCC 81). The Church venerates the Scriptures as she venerates the Body of the Lord (CCC 103).
Inspiration and Truth
God is the author of Sacred Scripture. They teach without error that truth which God wanted put into sacred writings (CCC 105, 107).
