Liturgical Year
The liturgical year is the annual cycle of seasons and feasts that celebrates the mystery of Christ and the saints.
The Church, in the course of the year, unfolds the whole mystery of Christ from the Incarnation and Nativity to the Ascension, to Pentecost and the expectation of the blessed hope of the coming of the Lord (CCC 1163, 1171). This cycle is the 'Liturgical Year.'
Seasons of Grace
The year is divided into seasons: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Ordinary Time, each with its own spiritual focus (CCC 1163-1173).
