The Paschal Mystery

The mystery of Christ's Passion, Death, Resurrection, and Ascension.

The Paschal Mystery is the core of the Christian faith, through which Christ accomplished the work of our redemption (CCC 1067). It is the 'Passover' of Jesus from death to life, liberating humanity from the slavery of sin (CCC 571, 1067).

At the Heart of the Liturgy

The Paschal Mystery is made present and applied to our lives through the celebration of the sacraments, particularly the Eucharist (CCC 1076, 1104).
