Praise
Praise is the form of prayer that recognizes most immediately that God is God, giving Him glory simply for His own sake.
Praise is the form of prayer which recognizes most immediately that God is God. It lauds God for His own sake and gives Him glory, quite beyond what He does, simply because He IS (CCC 2639).
The Echo of Heaven
While thanksgiving focuses on God's gifts, praise focuses on God's nature. It is entirely disinterested and joyful. The Eucharist contains profound elements of praise, and the Book of Revelation depicts praise as the eternal song of the angels and saints in Heaven (CCC 2639).
